The Town's emergency notification system, known as CodeRED, is back up and operational. The vendor for the CodeRED system took the entire application offline several weeks ago after a cyber attack on its system. Since that time, Crisis24 (the company that owns CodeRED) has worked to migrate the Town and other impacted local government entities to its newer emergency notification system. The Town participated in a call with this vendor today to review their updated security protocols and begin reviewing the notification process. We are satisfied that all data is secure and there are no issues with moving forward on this new platform.
The first notification on this new system went out earlier this afternoon in regards to the upcoming Tree Lighting at Town Hall on Friday at 5:30 p.m. Please do not be alarmed if you received a message (voicemail or text message) from the Town today regarding this tree lighting - it was legitimate, and we will be working over the next several days to fine tune the messaging process to return to having Town staff making the voice calls when possible.
