2021 Reappraisal Information

Let’s Talk Reappraisal: Virtual Town Halls with Buncombe Property Assessor

Buncombe County will host two virtual town halls on Aug. 10, and Aug. 24, on the 2021 reappraisal process. The public is invited to join a community conversation with Buncombe County Property Assessor Keith Miller. The town halls will cover everything from what is fair market value, how property is appraised, how to appeal a value, exemptions available, and more.

Biltmore Forest Tax Information

Biltmore Forest residents pay both Town and Buncombe County property taxes. The 2021 Biltmore Forest tax rate is 0.345 cents per each $100 of assessed value. Property taxes are due September 1st and become delinquent after January 5th, 2022.  2% Interest begins on January 6th, 2022.


 

 

How to pay your tax bill

Payment is accepted by cash (in person), check or money order. Checks/money orders should be made payable to the Town of Biltmore Forest. Please note the bill number from your tax bill in the memo section.

Payments can be made:

  • In Person at Town Hall, 355 Vanderbilt Rd, Asheville, NC 28803;
  • By Mail to Town of Biltmore Forest, PO Box 5352, Asheville, NC 28813;
  • By Dropbox which is the green box labeled Town Hall in the parking lot of Town Hall next to the flag pole.
  • Online through Official Payments (a convenience charge will apply)

For questions regarding address/name changes, assessment/valuations, personal property listings-please contact Buncombe County Tax Department at (828) 250-4910.

For questions regarding your Biltmore Forest tax bill, please contact Town Hall (828) 274-0824. Please note that Biltmore Forest tax bills are sent to the address on record with Buncombe County as of the scroll date.

Escrowed Taxes

Tax bills are mailed, upon request, to mortgage/lending companies. If the request is made prior to the billing date of the taxes, the homeowner will not be mailed a copy of the Biltmore Forest tax bill.

If no request is made prior to the billing of Biltmore Forest tax bills, the bill will be mailed to the homeowner. Requests from mortgage/lending companies will still be processed after the tax bills are mailed. Please contact your mortgage/lending company if you have questions regarding the status of your escrow account.
