The Town of Biltmore Forest utilizes the CodeRED emergency notification system for both emergency and non-emergency notifications to residents. Since last week, the company that provides this service has experienced technical issues that have resulted in the system being shut down. This outage is part of a nationwide CodeRED system outage, and there is no timeline from the vendor for restoration. Importantly, this outage does not impact 911 services or emergency response operations.
Crisis24, the company that provides the CodeRED service, is currently moving all users to a new notification system. The Town has requested access to this system and will provide information to all citizens as soon as it is available.
