Water Outage Update - 12/27/22 - 2pm

The City of Asheville has released additional information regarding the water distribution issues in the southern Asheville district. This area includes Biltmore Forest. The most recent update states that there is no estimated time for service restoration.

City of Asheville crews are working to restore services throughout their district. Town of Biltmore Forest Public Works crews have been working to ensure our system is fully operational to receive water when Asheville is able to restore service. Asheville is scheduled to deliver another update by 6pm on 12/27/22, and the Town will provide this update via CodeRED and our website as well.

PLEASE NOTE: There are rumors regarding the Town and City having a disagreement over “fixing” a leak at Busbee Road/Hendersonville Road this morning.  These are rumors and are not true. The water flowing into the Busbee Triangle (at the intersection of Hendersonville Road and Busbee Road) on the morning of 12/27/22 was the result of a broken pressure reducing valve. While this break is related to Asheville’s water distribution network disruption, this issue is not preventing the Town from receiving water from the City of Asheville as there are two other interconnections where the Town obtains water from the City. A significant portion of south Asheville is without water or under significant water pressure issues. This water outage event is not isolated to Biltmore Forest.
