Link for Friends of Biltmore Forest Earth Day Presentation

The Town was pleased to host an Earth Day presentation, via Zoom, on Thursday, April 22, 2021. This year's presentation included pertinent and beneficial information regarding our forest and landscaped environment. Thom Green and Logan Dye from the Hemlock Restoration Initiative discussed the importance of hemlocks to our ecosystem, and ways we can all work to preserve  and protect them from the hemlock wooly adelgid (HWA). Dr. Sara Villani from the NC State Cooperative Extension Service then provided a detailed and informative update on boxwood blight, other diseases common to boxwoods, and answered questions regarding this issue that affects many in Biltmore Forest.

We are thankful to the presenters and all those who participated by viewing the presentation. If you missed the presentation last night, you can still watch the video replay by following the link and instructions below.
