Happenings in the Forest - 9/15/23

Weekly Biltmore Forest Updates

Town Hall:

  • There is a Board of Adjustment meeting taking place in Town Hall on Monday, 9/18 from 4-6pm
  • Upcoming Club Events
    • The Running Club - will meet up at Town Hall Saturday, 9/16 at 9am
    • Board Game Meetup - will meet up on Wednesday, 9/20 from 4:30-6:30pm
    • Bird Watching Expedition - will be taking place Saturday, 9/23 beginning at 9am
      • Sign up by emailing bfanniversary@biltmoreforest.org, with “Bird” in the subject line.  Give names and best forms of contact, for each person in your party.
  • The South Eastern Classic XXXVI Car Show will be coming to Biltmore Forest's Rosebank Park from 9:30-12:30pm on Saturday, 9/23.
  • The Town Manager was able to assist a lost bat found in the Town Hall - good job Jonathan! 

Police Department:

  • Swore in a new Reserve Officer, Jeffrey Eaton. 

Public Works: 

  • Collect garbage and recycling
  • Mow and string trim
    • Road Shoulders, Greenwood Park, Town Hall Complex, Busbee Entrance, & Rosebank Park
  • Utility locates
  • Tree Assessments
  • Daily water chlorine tests
  • Cleared segments of the following road shoulders:
    • Forest Rd & Hilltop
  • Service dog waste stations
  • Finished the brush route for the south half of town
  • Installed streetlight adjacent to 394 Vanderbilt Rd
  • Removed downed tree at Park Rd. and E. Forest
  • Repaired stormdrain at 11 Westwood
  • Mulched east bank at Rosebank Park
  • Walked Brookside trail alignment with contractor
  • Vegetation control at Brookside Park
  • Met with consultant to review work scope for the public works and police dept. facilities plan
  • Grading contractor began working on masterplan improvements for Greenwood Park
