Happenings in the Forest - 8/25/23

Happy Friday!

Here are this week's updates from The Forest:

Town Hall:

  • Food Truck Friday is happening TODAY!
    • Please join us for Family Field Day + Food Truck tonight in Rosebank Park at 5 PM. We will have classic field day games like the sack race and the egg-spoon relay, and all ages are welcome! Sunshine Sammies will be there with their delicious ice cream sandwiches and hand-scooped ice cream.  And, we have a new food truck coming this week!  Claudia Y Los 4 Mariachis will be serving up fresh Mexican favorites like burritos, tacos and quesadillas.  Please join your neighbors for a fun evening picnic, or simply pick up some dinner to go.  The food truck menu can be found here. 
  • There is a Board of Adjustment meeting on Monday, August 28th at 4:00pm at Town Hall

Police Department:

  • Officer Ridgeway completed the Police Law Institute course
    • Be sure to congratulate Office Ridgeway when you see him around town!
  • We have been focusing on speed enforcement

Public Works:

  • Collect garbage and recycling
  • Our employee, Joel, successfully fought off a deer while mowing the center median by Town Hall
  • Mow and string trim
    • Road Shoulders, Greenwood Park, LVP, Brookside Park, Town Hall Complex
  • Utility locates
  • Tree Assessments
  • Daily water chlorine tests
  • Cleared the following road shoulders:
    • Cedar Hill, Fir Tree, Forest Rd
  • Service dog waste stations
  • Litter pick-up
  • Weed ivy beds in median by Town Hall
  • Complete north end brush route
  • Assembled new picnic table for Greenwood Park
  • Replaced/restored/provided five (5) house number signs
  • Removed additional invasive plant materials in Brookside Park
