Asheville Water Department Project to Impact Biltmore Forest

The Town of Biltmore Forest purchases its water from the City of Asheville. On late Friday evening, November 8th, the Asheville Water Resources Department will tie-in a 36 inch water transmission line near the source of the dam as one of the final phases of the North Fork Waterline Bypass Project. Asheville Water Resources will perform this work late evening and overnight for a 7 to 10 hour period. While this is not expected to result in an outage for Biltmore Forest residents, it may result in lower pressure, discolored water, and air in the waterlines. Water will be restored to the section of waterline on Saturday, November 9, 2019. The City of Asheville will issue a boiled water advisory when work is completed.

ONCE ISSUED, THIS BOILED WATER NOTICE IS EFFECTIVE FOR RESIDENTS OF BILTMORE FOREST.

During a boiled water advisory, residents are encouraged to vigorously boil tap water for 1 minute before consuming it. Asheville Water Resources will perform laboratory testing and the advisory will be lifted when tests confirm the possibility of risk is not present. Customers will receive notification that the advisory has been lifted via the same communication process as this advisory. For more information, please visit the City of Asheville's website for information regarding this project and potential impacts.
