Winter Storm Preparation and Information

The Town is closely monitoring this weekend's weather forecast. The Town will implement its emergency operations plan with the arrival of the snow likely beginning Saturday afternoon/evening. We are prepared to work closely with all other regional assistance groups, including the NC DOT, City of Asheville, and Buncombe County Emergency Management.

Biltmore Forest Public Works crews staff are fully prepared and have six snow plows ready for plowing the 22 miles of roads within Biltmore Forest. The salt and sand spreaders are equipped with additional supplies of salt and sand at the ready if necessary. The Police Department will remain staffed in normal operations for the duration of the storm.

You can assist the Town's snow removal efforts by making sure all vehicles are parked on your property and NOT on the rights of way or road shoulders. Public works staff has to navigate around vehicles parked on road shoulders and this results in not being able to fully plow or clear a road.

The Town will announce any changes to weekly garbage and recycling schedules through the Town's website and the CodeRED notification system. As a reminder, if you are not registered with CodeRED, you can sign up at this link.
