Trees provide a buffer, a natural canopy and are a hallmark of the Town requiring protection, and damage to or removal of protected trees requires regulation.
Tree removal requires permission from the Town of Biltmore Forest. The Town's Tree Protection Ordinance governs all aspects of tree removal and was most recently updated in October 2016. Tree Protection Ordinance
In January 2019, Charles Tesner became the Town's first certified arborist. Tree inspections for the Town typically take place on Thursday. To request permission to remove a tree(s), please complete the Request for Tree Removal or call 274-0824. Please flag or mark the trees in question as this helps facilitate the tree inspection process

You are encouraged to speak with neighbors for recommendations and obtain several quotes before proceeding with tree removal. Remember to inquire about whether the company has General Liability Insurance and Workers Compensation Insurance.
If you have a tree that poses an imminent threat to persons or property, you are highly encouraged to photograph the tree in the safest manner possible, and proceed with removal. Please contact the Town as soon as possible with the supporting photographs.
