4th of July Parade & Picnic in the Park Wednesday, July 4th 

Parade registration begins at 9:00am,

Parade registration ends and judging begins at 9:30pm,***

Awards presented & Invocation at 9:45am

Parade travels to Rosebank Park(between Vanderbilt Road & Park Road) at 9:50am

***Please remember the cut off time to register your child or pet for the parade is 9:30am. We will not accept entries after this time.

Dress in your best patriotic attire. Children can decorate their bicycles and tricycles. Trophies will be awarded for: best costume, best dressed pet, best wheels(tricycles, bicycles, strollers, wagons). The fun will continue at 10am with inflatables, balloon twisting, water fun, cotton candy, sno-cones, ice cream, and hot dogs!

Congratulations to Sgt. Kenny Merritt! 

Sergeant Kenny Merritt graduated from the North Carolina Law Enforcement Leadership Academy on Friday, June 15th.  This training program is a demanding but very rewarding six month program where officers attend 24 hours of training per month for six months.  In addition to the formal classroom setting officers are assigned projects and presentations outside of the classroom for a total of 152 hours of leadership training.  Sergeant Merritt should be commended for his dedication in completing this rigorous program that will enhance his leadership abilities well into the future.

June Commissioners Meeting Recap 

Board approved FY18-19 Budget

The Board of Commissioners held their regular monthly meeting on June 12, 2018.The Board approved the FY18-19 budget and a technical services agreement with the Land of Sky Regional Council for planning services. The Board approved the FY18-19 fee schedule with changes that included a new demolition fee and a penalty fee for those conducting land use activities without the appropriate permit. 

The coming year's budget leaves the tax rate level at 33 cents per $100 valuation and does not include a water or sewer rate increase.

June 12th Board of Commissioners Meeting 

Budget Public Hearing Highlights the Agenda

The Town of Biltmore Forest Board of Commissioners will hold their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, June 12th at 4:30pm in the Commissioners Chambers at Town Hall. This month's meeting includes a public hearing scheduled before the Board considers the FY18-19 proposed budget. The Board will also consider changes to the Town's fee schedule for next year, with the only two changes being an additional fee for demolition and a penalty fee for zoning activities performed without a permit. 

The Board will review budget re-allocations for the current fiscal year, a technical services agreement with the Land of Sky Regional Council for planning and code enforcement services, and discuss possible revisions to the Town's accessory structure ordinance.

Emergency Tree Removal 

Due to an emergency tree removal, Greenwood Road is closed near the intersection of Stuyvesant Road. An uprooted and leaning white oak tree is in the process of being removed.
