New Alert System for Biltmore Forest Residents

In the next few weeks, the Town will begin rolling out a new emergency alert system called CodeRed. The CodeRed service provides more precisely targeted information for residents based on their location. By registering with the Town through the CodeRed system, residents will have the ability to receive updates in the manner that is most preferable, such as text messages, emails, or phone calls to your mobile device. You may even opt out of non-emergency notifications if you wish. To register your account, simply click the link below.

CodeRed will work on a GIS based system where alerts are tailored to your area. For example, an alert about a water line break which impacts only 8-10 homes would now only be sent to the impacted area. All residents would still receive alerts which impact the entire Town.

The Town will continue to utilize the Nixle service until CodeRed is fully integrated and operational. We will send out an All-Call to those using the publicly available data, and then provide more information at that time about how citizens may sign up for enhanced and additional CodeRed notifications.

A mobile application for CodeRed is also available and can be found by utilizing the link below.
